Spring Cycling Base Building Program
Series of five (5) group rides designed to build your aerobic base and improve your group riding skills before the summer season begins. This program is ideal for experienced triathletes, fitness riders and experienced century/multiday event riders.
More than just a training group...
For the hearty cyclist who trained through the winter and spring, join us as we finally head outside and start building our aerobic base on actual roads! Our Coaches will not only help you build your aerobic engine, but will also work on your skills and cycling specific strength and power too!

Program Goals
The goals of the base building program are the following:
- Increase Distance
- Increase Strength
- Improve Group Riding Skills
Program Requirements
The riders in this program should all have road bikes and an aerobic foundation. This course is designed for intermediate to advanced riders. You don't mind riding in colder weather and want to ride/learn in a paceline.
Group Training Rides (April 10 through May 22*)
Join us for five (5) Coached group training rides and clinics every Sunday morning at 8:00am starting from Amundsen High School, at 5110 N Damen Ave.
The focus of these group rides will be on increasing your fitness, riding skills and confidence! Our coaching staff will be on hand to help teach, challenge and motivate you! Free parking is available at all of our group training sessions. (*We will not ride on April 24 / Easter or May 8 / Mother's Day).

Meet in the parking lot on the south side of Amundsen High School, at 5110 N Damen Ave.
If you haven't registered, you must do so prior to the ride. The ride will begin promptly at 8am.
More than just a ride...
If you truly want to reach your goals, you need to do more than just put in the miles! Throughout the rides, we will cover group riding strategies and technique. Each week will focus on a specific skill set, both on and off the bike.
Professional, Supportive Coaching!
Our head cycling coach, Jordan Grauer, has been an avid cyclist for almost 30 years, and was co-owner and operator of Higher Gear bicycles for 13 years (1993-2005). He's been a competitive cyclist since college, and in 1995, qualified for and successfully completed the 1,200 kilometer Paris-Brest-Paris ultramarathon cycling race. He has also led bicycle tours through Canada, France, Scotland, England, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand.

CES Alumni & New Members: $59
New CES'ers, good news! Once you participate in ANY CES program, you are a CES alumni for life and will save $$ on future programs!
No refunds will be provided in full or in part for any reason, including injury, after a program begins. No prorated fees are provided for late enrollments. You must be at least 18 years of age and complete the entry form and waiver. Race Fees are NOT included in the Training program fees.
