Training Programs :: Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon
Half Marathon Training2011 details coming soonChicago Endurance Sports is proud to be to be an "Official Training Program" of the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon! We have created a 13-week program that will prepare you for the race on August 1st, no matter what your experience level is. Our experienced coaches will determine the optimal training program for you and then guide you every step of the way. The CES Half Marathon Training Program includes two coached workouts every week to focus on building endurance and improving form and speed! You'll also receive a $10 discount off the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon race registration fee and a cool CES technical shirt too! Our last two programs have SOLD OUT before the Kick Off Meeting, and this one will too - don't miss your chance - register today! Kickoff MeetingJoin us at our Informational Kickoff Meeting, 9:00am Saturday, May 8th — Hosted at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley. This is a great chance to ask questions, meet your fellow teammates, the coaches, staff and sponsors. We will not be training at this meeting, so dress casually and bring money for Starbucks!! Registration / Packet Pickup* — 8:00–11:00am in the back meeting room of Fleet Feet Sports — Piper's Alley Pick up your training packet (includes daily training schedule, performance running shirt, and goodies from our sponsors!) prior to or after the Kick Off Meeting. *We highly recommend registering online prior to the Kick Off Meeting as the program will likely sell out before the meeting. Additional Packet Pickup / Registration DatesWe will be offering THREE additional Packet Pickup dates in order to make the registration process more convenient for you. You will be able to pick up your training schedule, performance running shirt, goodies from our sponsors and more! To make the process even smoother, we highly encourage you to register online in advance. This allows our coaches to evaluate your current fitness level and goals and have your suggested training schedule waiting for you when you arrive. All packet pickups will be hosted at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley in the back of the store multipurpose room (1620 N. Wells Street, Chicago, IL).

*Saturdays at 6:00am for "Run/Walk" athletes; 6:30am for "Run Only" athletes Training Days & LocationsFIRST GROUP TRAINING SESSION: Saturday, May 15th 2010 - 6:00 and 6:30am Fleet Feet Sports – Pipers AlleyGroup training sessions are held every Wednesday & Saturday beginning with our first session on Saturday, May 15, 2010. For a little more detail on what happens at those sessions, read on... Wednesdays - 6:30pm on the Chicago Lakefront (start at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley)The focus of these mid-week runs will be on form, pacing skills, strength, flexibility and speed. Our coaching staff will be on hand to help teach, challenge and motivate you! Saturdays - 6:00 and 6:30am on the Chicago Lakefront (most runs will start at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley, with one or two of our longest runs starting on the Lakefront Path near Montrose Harbor)These days are reserved for the long, slow distance runs that are so important to the success of endurance runners. Pace Leaders are available to guide you at the appropriate pace for your current fitness level and goals. Our coaches will also run with you to motivate you and help with any concerns or questions that come up along the way. Water & sport drink will be provided for our longer runs. BONUS: Restrooms, changing rooms, secure gear storage and water are available at all of our group training sessions! Try our Virtual Training option and you'll receive your daily training schedule and coaching support online, race day amenities, as well as the weekly email newsletter with coaching tips, race updates and more. New CES'ers, good news! Once you participate in ANY CES program, you are a CES alumni for life and will save $$ on future programs! No refunds will be provided in full or in part for any reason, including injury, after a program begins. No prorated fees are provided for late enrollments. Race entry fees (and associated registration process) are NOT included in the training program fees.
