Join Chicago Endurance Sports (CES) Spring Training and become the 'you' you promised yourself to be.

Kickoff Meeting

Join us at our Informational Kickoff Meeting, 9:00am Sunday, February 10th — Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley

You'll be able to meet our coaches, ask questions (and get answers!) and have fun with a free raffle and giveaways. Registration will be available (cash & check only, please) after the meeting. And don't worry — we won't make you run… yet! Just dress casually and bring a great attitude!

Registration / Packet Pickup — 8:00–8:45am and after meeting

If you have pre-registered, you may pick up your training packet (includes schedule, Nike shirt, and goodies from our sponsors!) prior to or after the meeting. If you haven't registered, you may do so prior to or after the meeting as well. This program will likely sell out prior to the Kick Off Meeting. We highly encourage you to pre-register online to secure your spot and your shirt. See you there!

Parking options at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley:

  • $2 for the first hour with validation at Piper's Alley parking deck
  • metered parking on Wells St. or North Ave.
  • street parking in the Old Town neighborhood

Can't make the Kick-Off Meeting?

No problem—you can pick up your goodie bag with your schedule and Nike Tech Running Shirt at the following Packet Pick Up Dates:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 6–8pm
  • Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 6–8pm

All Packet Pickups will take place at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley (1620 N. Wells Street).

Training Days & Location

Group training sessions are held every Wednesday & Saturday, beginning with our first session on Saturday, February 16, 2008. For a little more detail on what happens at those sessions, read on…

Wednesdays - 6:30pm on the Chicago Lakefront (start at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley)

After a few weeks of pace work and base building, the focus of these mid-week runs will be on form, strength and speed. Our coaching staff will be on hand to help teach, challenge and motivate you!

Saturdays - 7:30am on the Chicago Lakefront (start at Fleet Feet Sports, Piper's Alley)

These days are reserved for the long, slow distance runs that are so important to the success of endurance runners. Pace Leaders are available to guide you at the appropriate pace. Our coaches will also run with you to motivate you and help with any concerns or questions that come up along the way.

BONUS: Restrooms, changing rooms, secure gear storage and water are available at all of our group training sessions!

Pace Groups for All Levels

We have pace leaders for all levels of Run and Run-Walkers:

Run Paces

  • Groups from 7:30 to 12:00 minutes per mile, in 30-second increments (i.e. 7:30, 8:00, 8:30, etc.)

Run/Walk Paces

  • 8 min run with 1 min walk interval (8/1)
    • 10:30 min/mile
  • 5 min run with 1 min walk interval (5/1)
    • 10:30
    • 11:00
    • 11:30-12:00
    • 12:00-12:30
  • 3 min run with 2 min walk interval (3/2 - progresses to 4/2)
    • 12:30-13:30

We're extremely proud of our professional, experienced coaching staff — they always go the extra mile to make sure you have a fun, successful training season! Why is it so important to have qualified coaches? They can:

  • Evaluate your current fitness level and goals to make sure you are training at an appropriate level
  • Evaluate and suggest ways to improve your running form
  • Assist you if you need to adjust your training schedule, in the event of an injury or missed training due to travel or life in general
  • Motivate and challenge you to reach your goals in a smart, safe & effective manner

Please note: Race entry fees are not included with the training program fees — you are responsible for race registration and all fees that apply to that registration.

No refunds will be provided in full or in part for any reason, including injury, after a program begins. No prorated fees are provided for late enrollments.
