FAQ & POLICIES

Can I still participate in Winter Warriors if I don't travel to Austin for the destination race?

Absolutely! There is no obligation to accompany the group on the destination trip. We hope you’ll consider joining us, but understand if you can’t or don’t want to. We are also looking at the possibility of hosting a “local option” half marathon & 10K event in Chicago in February for those athletes that don’t make the trip to Austin. Stay tuned for more information!

How many miles should I be able to run before training begins?

We recommend that as a minimum, runners should be consistently running at least 3-4 times per week, with a minimum “long run” distance of 3-6 miles (depending on which distance you’re training for) once per week (either continuous run or a combination of run/walk). Our group runs are supported up to a 14 min/mile run/walk pace.

We also provide a 4-week “prep” plan complete with optional group runs for the weeks leading up to the start of training, to help make sure you’re ready for the start of the season.

Will there be Pace Teams for the weekend runs?

Yes, we will have Pacers for a variety of run & run/walk paces at each location.

What is the minimum age to participate in a training program?

Athletes must be 18 years old to participate.

Can I participate with a stroller or pet?

For the safety of all participants, strollers & pets are NOT allowed at group training sessions.

Do you offer customized training plans?

Our coaching staff can help you make simple changes to the training plans, to help accommodate your lifestyle and needs. If, however, you have more unique circumstances, such as a non-traditional work/life schedule, unique training needs or just want that extra bit of personal attention and customization to help get you where you want to be, we offer a Virtual 1:1 Personal Coaching option. This monthly service is available throughout the length of the season, with no minimum commitment.

For more details, click the “PERSONAL COACHING” tab above.

What is the weather policy for cancelling group training?

We like to prepare for all types of conditions (rain, snow, wind, etc.) as you never know what it might be on race day. However, if there are conditions that could potentially put the participants or staff in danger (such as lightning, extreme heat or extreme cold), we will cancel or postpone training. For complete details and weather alerts, visit HERE.

What is the Refund/Cancellation policy?

Should you decide to cancel your participation in the CES Winter Warriors training program, registered participants have until two weeks prior to the start of the program (11:59pm (CDT) November 21, 2021), to be eligible for a full refund or credit. To request a refund/credit, please contact info@chicagoendurancesports.com.

*After November 21, 2021, no refunds or credits will be provided in full or in part for any reason, including injury, illness or race cancellation/changes. No prorated fees are provided for late enrollments. Race entry fees are NOT included in training fees.

The CES Winter Warriors program will continue regardless of any changes to the Austin Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K, or any other goal races. Should your goal race be cancelled or be unable to accommodate you, your CES Coaches & Staff will continue to support you, regardless, through the entire season.

Are Virtual Training participants allowed to join Group Training runs?

No, Virtual Training participants do not have access to Group Training runs.

Are Race Entry Fees included in training program fees?

Race entry fees & race registration are NOT included in training program fees and are the responsibility of the participant.
